Charlotte Meetup #1 Summary

After years of being asked to host an event in the “Queen City” we finally decided to move forward.

The wait was well worth it.

We hosted our first ever meetup in Charlotte, NC on Thursday evening, January 26 at UNCC’s downtown Dubois Center.

More than 40 technologists from around the area attended, as well as a new friend who flew in from TX. Overall the vibe was extremely positive and the networking was excellent.

Mike Bifulco, developer advocate, author, and serial startup founder, also delivered a wonderful talk titled “Unlocking the Power of Open Source to Launch Your Startup and Career”.

The next Open Source Charlotte meetup will take place Wednesday evening, March 1 in downtown Charlotte at UNCC’s Dubois Center. Grant Ingersoll will deliver “Machine Learning & NLP Advances to Enhance Search & Discovery”. It’s FREE to attend and details can be found here
