Intro to Containers workshop rescheduled for this Friday, May 22May 19, 2020
One of the few things that didn’t go as planned last week was the Brent Laster Containers workshop. In short, we experienced technical difficulties with the Hopin platform that prevented it from being delivered.
We’re happy to announce the 4 hour session has been rescheduled for this Friday, May 22 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm EDT.
The workshop will be available free of charge but does require attendees to register in advance.
What: Intro to Containers: From Docker to Kubernetes and everything in between
Time: 1:00 pm EDT – 5:00 pm EDT
Session details: https://opensource101.com/sessions/introduction-to-containers-from-docker-to-kubernetes-and-everything-in-between-extended-session/
Please note this session does have prerequisites. Meaning, items attendees must download prior to the session so they can hit the ground running and not hold things up. Anyone interested should look at this closely and follow instructions.
Students attending this workshop will need to prepare with the following requirements:
- A modern laptop with at least 8G of memory and 15G of free space
- An installed version of the VirtualBox application from http://www.virtualbox.org
- A downloaded copy of the virtual machine image (.ova) file from here
- The setup doc for the workshop is here to download
