July OSSC Meetup Summary

The July Open Source South Carolina (OSSC) meetup was an absolute blast.

The event took place Wednesday, July 13 in downtown Columbia, SC at the SOCO co-work space. Between 15 and 20 technologists attended from all over the city and region.

Mike Bifulco, Developer Advocate at Stripe, delivered a fantastic session titled “What it’s like to run an open source community”, which focused on his experience with APIs You Won’t Hate, a site and community he co-founded. The session was a master-class on lessons learned and best practices when starting something new and building a community.

Mike’s presentation slides can be found here.

The August OSSC meetup is being planned now – details will be announced soon.

In the meantime join the Open Source South Carolina meetup community and stay updated on all upcoming OSSC events.
