The “Why” Behind Javascript Frameworks – Talk video and audio now live

We recently hosted Peter Elbaum at the Open Source South Carolina and the ATO Open Source RTP meetup groups, and he delivered his “The “why” behind Javascript frameworks” talk at both.

Javascript frameworks is a topic we’ve been interested in for quite a while, and we were especially interested in the angle Peter took when presenting it.

In short, he first looked at why frameworks exist to begin with, then moved on to discuss the best ways to learn and choose one.  For attendees, the talk was educational and thought-provoking on many levels and multiple questions followed each session.  The discussion was lively and engaging.

In addition to the talk itself, we sat with Peter for a short 2-3 minute conversation where he provided an overview of what attendees and anyone watching / listening could expect.  It was informative and provided a great overview for the full (video) talk.

Peter’s slides are included in the video but can also be found here.  You can follow Peter on Twitter at @pjelbaum.
